Cossitt Playground Addition
The Cossitt PTC is raising funds to add to our playground. We are raising an additional $40,000 this semester to supplement the $80,000 we have already saved to enhance our playground, designed by our students. Follow along for updates on our playground addition progress!
How are we raising the funds?
We have various methods planned to raise funds, including…
The Tiger Fun Run!
Run, Tigers. Run! On February 7, 2025, Cossitt Tigers will run to raise funds for a playground addition. More details and volunteer sign-up information can be found HERE.
Cheers for Cossitt
We will be raising funds at Cheers for Cossitt on February 22 through a silent auction and a wine bottle raffle. We would love your donation of goods, services, tickets, bottles of wine valued at $15+, etc. to include in our raffle. Questions? Reach out to cossittptcfundraising@gmail.com!
Sponsorship of Playground Components
Are you a business or individual who wants to sponsor a set of swings? A picnic table? The sky is the limit on what you can sponsor and receive recognition for the sponsorship. See more HERE.
General Donations
General donations are always appreciated! You can donate HERE or see below for additional ways to donate.

Last year, we surveyed our Cossitt families via the Tiger Times to ask how they want to see our $80,000 in savings used. The results were split between playground enhancements (swings! tables! slides!) and bathroom renovations. Thankfully, bathroom renovations will be covered by the potential referendum, so we pivoted to playground enhancements. Additionally, our playground is fairly small for our student base and this will provide more options for our students.
-
Part of the potential referendum will fund new playgrounds at all D102 elementary schools except Cossitt due to the age and safety of equipment. (The current structures at Cossitt were installed in 2017.)
If passed, the potential referendum will provide Cossitt with a new gym addition, elevators, renovated bathrooms and more!
The potential referendum will also replace the current playground’s wood chips with new ADA surfacing which will be done concurrently on the added space.

Nope!
Part of the potential referendum includes a new gym for Cossitt, which is much needed! There is space for both!
The GYM addition will run along the Ashland side of the building.
Our playground addition will be added to the Madison/Harris corner connecting to the current playground.
