About the Cossitt PTC

What is the PTC?
The Cossitt School Parent Teacher Council is a non-profit organization that raises money and works with teachers and staff to enrich the experience of Cossitt students.
  • Every Cossitt Parent is a member of the PTC.  Dues are $14 per family.
  • Everyone is welcome at PTC meetings, which are held every other month.
  • The PTC has many diverse committees staffed by parent volunteers and would not be successful without tremendous enthusiasm and participation. It’s a great way to meet other parents, get involved in your child’s school, share your talents and contribute to the caring Cossitt community.
How is money raised?
The PTC sponsors numerous fundraisers throughout the year to provide operating funds. Some of the major parent-run events include the spring and fall Clothing Sale, Book Fair, and Social Fundraisers. Equally important fundraisers include Original Works, Restaurant Fundraising, Brick Paver Sale, Box Tops for Education, Spiritwear and PTC Dues. There is something for everyone with the PTC-sponsored fundraisers and we rely upon the help of our talented and generous parent community as volunteers and supporters alike.
What do our PTC dollars buy?
The PTC supports curricular and non-curricular requests. Each year we contribute to Celebrating Cossitt Curriculum (CCC) programs, present every teacher with a check to purchase supplies, purchase materials for the LRC, provide each student with a birthday book, and arrange school assemblies. We support Student Service Council, Book Club, Battle of the Books, and many other extracurricular clubs. Parent volunteers help to run social activities such as classroom parties, Family Fun Night, the End of Year Event, and other all school events. Beautification of grounds and special building projects are also funded through the PTC. Finally, we support all PTC members with an electronic directory of 102 District families.
